Jonathan Jacob Moore, or Jon Jon, was born and raised in Detroit and graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in Africana Studies and American Studies in May 2017. He is a Berkeley Fellow and Managing Editor of Qui Parle. Jon Jon’s work has appeared in Capacious: Journal for Emerging Affect Inquiry, BOAAT, DRØME Magazine, Vinyl Poetry, and ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment among others. He enjoys decaf lattes, traveling with friends, and watching bad horror movies.
Jon Jon is broadly interested in back ontology, critical theory, film, performance, poetics, and the paranormal. More specifically, he pursues the relationship between Afro-pessimism and black feminist elaborations of the human vis-à-vis black film, performance, and poetry. Jon Jon is a member of the Film and Media Designated Emphasis (D.E.) program.
