Gilberto graduated from Brandeis University with Highest Honors in African and African American Studies and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. He is broadly interested in 20th and 21st century African American and Caribbean literature, Black visual and performance studies and Black feminist thought. He is from New York City.
